What does "
body , mind and soul" really mean?

Body – Your body is your physical being, your temple, the only one you have in
this life time so look after it. All processes within your body are biological
and electro-chemical from cellular level to moving your legs to walk or stand.
Signals are delivered via the nerves from your brain throughout your body and vice
versa. We are both matter and energy. Energy moves throughout your body in the
form of chemicals and nerve impulses. We emit and receive
electro-magnetic signals from stimuli (our environment and the people we
interact with). Our electro-magnetic field stores impulses from the brain,
nervous and endocrine systems – and emits our status to those around us communicating
our reactions to experiences. In essence, we are like walking barometers
relaying information to each other. This field creates energy before it and in
its wake and you feel it in its negative or positive forms. For example when
you walk into a room after two people have had an argument and you can feel
thick air, the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, and you can ‘feel’ the
tension, even when those people are no longer in the room. Or how about the
feeling you can experience of peace and serenity inside a church, or in the
home of a consistently positive, happy person?
As psycho-physiological beings what we think has a direct chemical reaction, and chemical reactions affect our state-of-mind.

Mind – Your mind consists of conscious and subconscious (sometimes referred to as unconscious). A mere 5% makes up your consciousness. The remaining 95% is your subconscious. The 95% holds all the data, filters it into tidy folders for easy access and retrieval. Your subconscious holds your memories and emotions, experiences, beliefs, values, habits, conditioning/learned behaviour. That 95% contains your ego and your survival instinct. It presents its data into the mind, your 5% which is your conscious thought - that which you put attention on. All 100% is created the same way that physiological responses are created - by electromagnetic chemical impulses, and responses to stimuli. If your mind is in a perpetual negative state your body learns this and starts to manifest signs of dis-ease; starting with headaches, aches and pains, joint stiffness, upset stomach, and mental confusion.
Soul – Your soul is three-fold. It is breath, wisdom, and joy. Breath is your life-force which enables your body to live. Wisdom is your inner guide/intuition, and joy is your connection to the universe. This can be explained as that part of you that is joy, the spirit in you, that fire, that burning desire or passion to have purpose and meaning in life. It doesn't have to be 'spiritual' or religion based. It is more your drive, your inner voice which is beyond the ego, it's the knowing part of you that is connected to the consciousness of the universe. The electromagnetic fields that created the big bang and life on earth as we know it today: the organised chaos. In Yogic philosophy all five dimensions (body, mind, breath, wisdom, and joy) are of equal importance and an imbalance in any one of these can cause an imbalance in the rest which is how dis-ease begins. Therefore balancing one can balance the rest, restoring health.
